Two companies share the name. Stern Electronics grew out of the Stern family’s purchase of Chicago Coin in 1977 and built games into the mid eighties; Stern Pinball, founded by Gary Stern in 1999 from the remains of Sega Pinball, went on to become the world’s largest maker of real machines. The catalogue holds 110 Stern games across both eras.
