David Gottlieb founded his Chicago company in 1927 and effectively invented the pinball business twice: Baffle Ball kicked off the coin-op craze in 1931, and Humpty Dumpty introduced flippers in 1947. Famed for the elegant wedge-head games of the fifties and sixties, Gottlieb built machines until 1996, and with 350 games catalogued it is the most recreated real manufacturer in virtual pinball.
